We are proud to announce the publication of Athens Anthology and the Athens Exam Skills series, written by front-line teachers and experienced ELT writers. Our book launching seminar was held on 21 March 2015. On that day, we had four ELT experts to share with us how to improve students’ language skills.
In the seminar, Dr Yuen-yi Lo talked about how to enrich student’s writing content. She explained to the teachers that they could provide more scaffolding, in terms of ideas and language structures, to help students enrich the content and expressions in their writing. Sara and Jeremy Walenn gave tips on enhancing students’ listening skills. Ideas mentioned included giving regular listening practice and training student to listen for information words. Finally, John Millen provided suggestions to teachers on how to bring about a love of reading in secondary school students.
